Bookkeeping

Our Best Practices, but You can Modify

  • A computer server, such as the one that we sell, resides at your business, with the accounting software installed on it.
  • Remote access, which is high speed and high definition, is set up with access for any company employee that needs it, and Bear Reconciliations (BR).
  • Employees doing sales at your company enter sales information into the accounting system.
  • Whomever you designate will make the deposits into the bank.
  • BR will pick up the following paperwork from your business: deposit slips, bills to pay, and bank and credit card statements (or you may decide to give us read-only access to view your bank account online.)
  • BR will enter the bills, and you print and mail the bills as funds allow.
  • After you send us employee hours, BR does payroll.  All payroll tax returns are produced, and tax payments are scheduled to be made from your account.  BR imports the payroll data into the accounting software.
  • BR enters the deposits.
  • BR reconciles the bank accounts, credit card accounts, and loans.
  • BR will also work with your tax preparer and auditor, when needed.

But why do my accounting at the BR office, instead of at my site?

  • We do regular cross-training of our employees so that in case someone is sick, on vacation, or leaves with little notice, another person can cover, and your business can keep running
  • By having several accountants work together in the same office, there is teaching and learning of best practices that occurs by working together that is otherwise lost because of physical separation.
